Making the Eye and Head movement

In the Last post, I created elements in the script that have dynamic blink changing based on the dynamic expressions that change by chatting with the NPC.


This week I am focusing on the Eye and Head Movement for that dynamic Idle head and eye movement when not talking and having it look at the character while talking.


Dynamic Head movement with Two Multiaim objects using animation rigging. One target is for the eyes and the other object is for the head movement:

The target goes toward the camera instantly after talking (this is just a demonstration with different eye/head delays and Movement speed :



The script for looking at a target while talking: I put this script here cause it shows that the eye target and head target move instantly towards the camera while talking for a smooth transition. The Initial Speed Multiplier is for the eye and head target to move faster to the camera so that the eye and head movement speeds can have their separate speeds while not talking.



This is what is inside the head inspector. I've added the movement parameters for different movement speeds while not talking and also a delay in movement if needed for realistic eye behaviour.


Conclusion:


I believe that tweaking these values can bring out cool and dynamic eye behaviours. Also as you can see I have placed some waypoints in the scene for the target path to go on so you can change the waypoint order to make the idle animation more dynamic.


I think this came out good and probably needs a bit of polishing but it is what i got this week and hope it turns out good for the final project!
